LAGOMWORKS RESEARCH: #distributedorganizations
Distributed organizations are ‘reconfigurable’. As articulated by Galbraith in 2010, the power of the truly reconfigurable organization lies with the leaders who can move work to where talent, capabilities, and capacity are, regardless of where they are in the world.
The ongoing pandemic has disrupted our ways of working. The rise of the #distributedorganization entails people across different locations, working together to achieve the shared objectives. It enables local leadership to pursue goals with autonomy, with the central organization focusing on the overall strategy.
Based on our survey findings and extensive secondary research, LagomWorks Consulting has identified seven key trends and corresponding How Might We statements that are defining change (and innovation) within distributed organizations.
Challenge 1: How Might We repurpose our Performance Management frameworks?
Challenge 2: How Might We create a fit for purpose organization structure in the new?
Challenge 3: How Might We effectively integrate employees who join remotely to sustain an inclusive environment?
Challenge 4: How Might We prepare for a blended workplace?
Challenge 5: How Might We adapt employee experiences to distributed organizations?
Challenge 6: How Might We reinvent the journey of learning?
Challenge 7: How might We support employees to manage stress and their mental health?
